Last January, DasomX embarked on a meaningful journey to Ulleungdo Island. A team of five students, three staff members, and one guest instructor joined forces for an educational volunteer project using our AI solution, LEIA.
🔍 Bridging the Gap Between Ideal and Reality
Our primary goal was to introduce LEIA to about ten local residents and test a pivotal hypothesis: "Can parents effectively teach their children using LEIA on their own?" However, we encountered significant hurdles in practice.
Sustainability of Content Creation: We realized that expecting users to consistently create their own educational content is a tall order.
Consumption over Creation: Most participants felt more comfortable and satisfied consuming professionally curated content rather than building it themselves.
There was a clear gap between our vision of "user-generated education" and the practical reality of how people interact with technology.
🌱 Meaningful Milestones
Despite these challenges, this trip was a profound turning point for us.
Launch of 'LEIA Angels' 1st Class: We are proud to announce the official start of our supporters' group, dedicated to educational innovation.
Connecting with Ulleungdo: Developing a genuine interest in and connection with the Ulleungdo community is a valuable step toward closing the educational divide.
At DasomX, we won't shy away from the "gaps" we discovered. Instead, we will use them as a roadmap to provide better, more accessible educational experiences. Stay tuned as we grow alongside the LEIA Angels!
